If you walk into our Richmond kitchen this morning, you will see an old banana lying by itself on the table. Usually, people place items there to be eaten. For instance, it’s not unusual for a dozen donuts to arrive, or 5 boxes of girl scout cookies that someone bought but does not want to feel guilty about cookie gluttony. It’s actually fun to see how quickly the food will disappear.
But this time, there is simply an old bruised banana. Now I’m not sure if someone is trying to be funny or that they really believe that a person will come along and think, “Gracious, just what I want for breakfast. An old and bruised banana”. Not so much.
I reference the banana because I don’t think it’s going to make a comeback. Nothing positive. A veteran banana that has no wisdom. Even a monkey would say, “no thanks”.
But today, I am posting a look-back of Dave Wottle’s run in the 1972 Munich Olympics. If you have the time, it’s worth watching his improbable two laps that lasts about 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
It just got me pumped up, even though I knew the ending. To never give up. (unless you are an old banana)
I like the discussion of Dave Wottle’s hat! And in conclusion, here’s what coffee thinks about pants, which is not really like a hat. It really has no reason to be in the blog today but it does make me laugh, and it’s about coffee.
