In the movie Forrest Gump, Gary Sinise’s character (Lieutenant Dan) tells Tom Hank’s character (Forrest Gump) that he will not work with him on a shrimp boat. In fact, he further states that the day Forrest Gump is captain of a shrimp boat is the day that he would become an astronaut. The following year, Sinise and Hanks appeared together in a movie as astronauts in Apollo 13.
