American Idol Lawsuit

If a lawsuit is any indication, not everyone feels like a winner after competing in the TV show ” American Idol”. (Story) Second season contestant Corey Clark has filed suit against four defendants. He has filed a 120 million dollar lawsuit against law firms Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and Morrison & Foerser. He has also sued E! Entertainment Television and Fox.

Clark claims that the defendants are guilty of libel and slander, and that they invaded his privacy after he alleged that he had a romantic fling with one of the show’s judges at the time, Paula Abdul. The show did its own investigation and claimed that there was no basis for Clark’s claim and that he had been removed from the show at the time, because he had failed to tell them about a previous criminal record.

According to the lawsuit, after his claim of a romance with Abdul which led to the show’s “sham investigation; he was shunned by the public, evicted from his apartment, caused to live off of food stamps and was unable to pursue a successful career.

It sounds to me as though there is just no more music left in Clark’s life! Clark claims that a recent E! television program about these prior events have caused “continuing exposure to hatred, contempt, ridicule, aversion and disgrace in the community”.

Speaking of bad memories, pic o’ day …
