No matter where you are we will come to you

Coffee Beans and Resolutions

Because routine has been anything but routine over the holidays,  yesterday I felt the need to make sure I had some special energy to get it going, for our first day back. Kinda like this!

Tabitha said to me when I walked in, that she was not going to have any resolutions for the new year. Instead, she had decided to have intentions. I like that.

I saw a discussion about coffee beans and it reminded me of new year’s resolutions.  Roasted coffee beans start to lose small amounts of their flavor within two weeks. Grinded coffee begins to lose its flavor in an hour. Brewed coffee and espresso begins to lose flavor within minutes. Does that sound like a good metaphor for some resolutions?

Yesterday’s devotional from  Our Daily Bread had a good reminder.  God provides the strength we need to persevere and grow. Which leads to a good message from the book of Philippians chapter 3,

forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Great days are ahead and we can keep pressing forward… with good intentions!

And finally, when has that question of “How was your new year’s?” run its course? Well, I thought that I probably should get this in quickly as our pic o’ day. It’s a Happy Gnu ear! How about that?
